I remember the first time I saw her.
Alice.
Brown hair, bright green eyes. Cherry lips set against a pale face. An easy-going smile. A muscular, slender frame. She was beautiful, and terrifying. Because underneath her innocence, there was something. Alarming. Terrifying. Thrilling.
A locket was bound around her neck and it wouldn’t be until later that I noticed the scar along the side of her throat.
That wasn’t until later though. No, I want to focus on the night I first met her.
I had wandered out of my room one night, unable to sleep despite the fact that I wa
I want to show you:
The rainbow in oil that’s been spilt on the road;
The shine and urban sound of a dropped drinks can;
The taste of an empty juice carton.
I want you to really see them;
not nod, confused at my interest, and walk on.
Not immediately complain about the littering problem.
Oh, I could clean this whole town for you;
What would it matter?
It’ll be dirty again soon enough,
And the process of deterioration is sadder than the final state.
I want to go back to the day you smiled
when I told you that flies on a rotten apple
Were bright fairies.
And I was in the darkness
So darkness I became.
I crept through the cosmos
searching for god
alas, i found an interminable
amount of nothingness
no god
no goddesses
just darkness
develops into insanity
insanity turns into
desolation
alone in the darkness
I became darkness
I mutate into obscurity
forever traveling
dare not to look for me
I have faced extinction
from darkness I came
back to darkness I was thrust
Where Fire and Earth meet
We are molten, tectonic
Dancing the interface, frisson subsonic
My solid foundation, floor of the ocean
Your underlying perpetual motion
Fluid dynamic, abyssal plummet
Twine, combine to fulminant summit
Convergent, we build
Transforming, we change
My coastal tsunami
Your mountain range
Together we are megalithic, volcanic
Irresistible force, magnetic, galvanic.
